From the recording The 29th of June

Lyrics

Early in the morning when the sun was on the rise,
the wind was on the waters and the birds were soon to fly
The grass grew tall along a fence the wild rose did bloom
the scene was like a painting on the 29th of June

Time held no importance as we didn't know the year
and the river told a story as it flowed free and clear
It told where it was going and it told where it had been
winding down the hillside to pass this way again.....

----------

The air was getting warmer and the wind would softly blow
trees would sway their branches and the meadow lark would show
A symphony to life was the song that he would sing
as he sat upon a fence post , in a meadow, by a spring

(and) Far above the forest where the mountains leave the hills
the timberline grows ragged and the snow lies there still
Some tracks lay old upon the snow, a deer lay on her side
It tried to climb the mountain, where softly she could die.......

------------

The sun grew high, a cloud appeared though rain was never felt
the sun was everlasting and the cloud was soon dispelled
Rain would fall in due course when the moon was full
a changing of the seasons when the Summer's warmth would go

Across the distant prairies where the land sky are one
downward from the mountains, where the cold rivers run
Miles turn to minutes, as the day is slow to fall
and the evening starts the soonest where the shadows grow so tall
